How Solid GPS Works

STEP 1
Attach It
Plug it into your OBD 2 port and download the free Solid GPS app. Access your tracking dashboard securely from your phone and computer.

STEP 2
Connect It
Your tracker sits beneath the steering wheel, powered by your vehicle. No charging, no hiding spots to find, just plug in and forget about it.

STEP 3
Track It
Your tracker detects movement and starts tracking automatically. You get updates every 30 seconds while driving, giving you a precise history of every trip.

Solid GPS OBD Tracker
“It’s Like Having Eyes on Every Van”
Jason runs a courier fleet. Vans on different routes, drivers hard to track, and no way to know what’s happening in real time.
Usually? You just hope everything goes to plan. Missed deliveries, wasted fuel, vehicles used after hours, and you only find out when it’s too late.
Then Jason plugged in his Solid GPS OBD Trackers.
The Result: He now sees every van in real time, gets alerted the moment something’s off, and has cut wasted travel across his entire fleet.
Without the trackers, Jason is guessing.
With Solid GPS, he has full visibility. He didn’t just track his fleet. He took back control.
The tracker behind Jason’s fleet.

Solid GPS OBD Tracker
Stop Losing Money on the Road
When you can’t see your fleet, you can’t control it.
Drivers go off-route, vehicles get used after hours, and fuel costs spiral without explanation.
You only find out when the damage is done.
By then, it’s too late.
Without visibility, you’re relying on trust alone. And trust doesn’t show you who took the long way home or who’s using your van on weekends.
Solid GPS puts control back in your hands, so you can run your fleet with full visibility.
Trusted by over 30,000 drivers.

Purchase & Subscription
Why Do I Need a Subscription and Will the Price Ever Change?
A subscription is required for your Solid GPS tracker to work. Each tracker has a built in SIM card that connects to mobile networks so it can send location updates straight to your app.
Your subscription covers everything:
• SIM data and connectivity (no telcos, contracts, or setup hassles)
• Full access to the Solid GPS app with alerts, history, and settings
• Ongoing software improvements and local customer support
Because we manage tens of thousands of trackers, we’re able to secure low bulk data rates and keep costs down for everyone.
Since launching Solid GPS, we’ve never increased our subscription price.
Without an active subscription, your tracker will not be able to send location updates or alerts.
What’s included in my purchase?
Here’s exactly what you’ll receive:
– Solid GPS OBD tracker
– Built-in 4G SIM card with unlimited data
– Instruction manual
– 31-day free trial
– 12-month hardware warranty
Can i use my own SIM card?
You are not able to use your own SIM card.
Solid GPS uses custom-built SIM cards that automatically connect to multiple mobile networks across the world.
This ensures reliable coverage without dropouts or setup issues.
Regular SIM cards don’t provide the same multi-network roaming, data stability, or automatic integration with the Solid GPS system.
Our subscription keeps your tracker connected everywhere it’s supported, without extra setup, fees, or technical headaches.
Can I return the tracker if I don’t want it?
Yes, if you decide Solid GPS isn’t right for you during your 31-day free trial, you can cancel your subscription anytime and return the tracker for a full refund.
Just contact our support team through the form above or email us at support@solidgps.com.
Battery
Can I have my OBD tracker permanently powered?
Yes, you can keep your Solid GPS OBD tracker permanently powered by connecting it to the battery of your vehicle instead of the OBD 2 port.
We are releasing a hardwiring harness next month.
Setup & Installation
Can I Manage Multiple Trackers Under One Account?
Yes, you can add as many OBD trackers as you like to one Solid GPS account. It’s simple to manage and monitor them all in one place.
To keep things organized, you can assign each tracker a custom name and colour.
Just head to the account settings in the Solid GPS app or website to manage them anytime.
Can More Than One Person Access The Same Tracker?
Yes, you can share access to your tracker with others through your Solid GPS account.
Each person you share with can log in from their own device and see the same live location and movement history.
This makes it ideal for families, teams, or shared vehicles where multiple people need visibility.
Does The Tracker Use My Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Or Phone?
No. Solid GPS doesn’t rely on your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or phone.
It uses GPS satellites to pinpoint its location and a built-in SIM card to send that data directly to your Solid GPS app, completely independent of your devices.
You’ll receive instant alerts and live tracking through the app or any browser, even if your phone is off or miles away.
Where do I Connect my tracker
Your Solid GPS OBD tracker plugs into your vehicle’s OBD2 port. In most cars, this is located beneath the steering wheel, near the dashboard on the driver’s side. It’s usually within arm’s reach and doesn’t require any tools to access. Just plug the tracker in and you’re ready to go.
If you’re having trouble finding your OBD2 port, send us a message with your vehicle’s make and model and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Coverage & App
Which countries are supported?
Solid GPS operates in Australia, the USA, and New Zealand, with full coverage and local payment options in each region.
If you’re outside these countries, contact our team through the form above, and we’ll confirm whether your area is supported.
What Network Does It Use, And How Far Can It Track From My Device?
Solid GPS connects to major 4G networks like Telstra and Vodafone in Australia, Spark and Vodafone in New Zealand, and T-Mobile and AT&T in the USA.
It automatically uses whichever has the strongest signal and doesn’t rely on Bluetooth, so it can track almost anywhere within mobile coverage.
If the tracker loses coverage, it stores your route and uploads it once signal returns.
How does Solid GPS work? what are its features?
Solid GPS locates your vehicle using satellites and sends updates to your app through secure 4G networks.
The tracker updates every 30 seconds while moving
When the vehicle is parked it checks in once every 24 hours, then instantly switches back to active tracking when movement begins.
You receive instant alerts if your vehicle moves unexpectedly or leaves a set area.
The tracker includes a built in SIM with coverage included, and full access to the Solid GPS app for tracking, history, and battery information.
Can I track my Solid GPS using a mobile app or a computer?
Yes, you can track your Solid GPS on any computer or on iOS and Android devices using the Solid GPS app.
You can view tracking locations, movement history, signal strength, battery levels, and receive alerts if your vehicle moves or leaves a set area.
Will the tracker work with my mobile carrier?
Yes. Solid GPS includes a built-in 4G SIM that automatically connects to the strongest available network in your region.
It doesn’t rely on your phone plan or carrier, so you can track your vehicle from anywhere without needing to insert a SIM or adjust any settings.
Works anywhere. Trusted everywhere.
